About this Initiative

Formally established in May 2000, the Council of Atlantic Premiers’ (CAP) mission is to promote collaboration among the four Atlantic provinces and identify and implement regional positions. The mandate of the Council involves the joint promotion of the interests of Atlantic Canadians, including the development of an Atlantic voice on the national political stage.

The issue of healthy lifestyles and its effect on the future of our children was recently identified as a common concern that needed to be addressed across Atlantic Canada. The Council of Atlantic Premiers agreed to develop a joint marketing communications program designed to improve the overall well-being of children and youth in the region. The “Right the Future” campaign has been launched to make the people of Atlantic Canada aware of the issue and encourage changes that will positively affect the future of our children.
